I'm not abandoning you. I'm just working brutal overtime...and probably will continue doing so until Thanksgiving or after.
I try to get home in time to have a pot of tea and knit a couple of rows on the Swallowtail Shawl. Two rows is really all I get time for before falling into bed. I haven't had time to block the Luna Moth Shawl, but I plan to soon. Er, after Thanksgiving.
It's not as bad as it sounds. My boss is appreciative of my hard work, I am leading a big project, and we are producing thousands of documents a week -- we are actually making document productions Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. (Any paralegals out there will recognize this as a brutal schedule!) I'm pretty good at what I do, and I like the opportunity to prove my worth once in a while.

Way to go, Aidan. You don't mmind busting your buns for awhile when you feel like you are making a difference and when you feel like your work is recoginized and appreciated. Sounds like this is a time for you to shine! Take advantage of it. Can't wait to see the Luna Moth shawl once it is blocked.
And I do miss your regular blogging.
Having your work appreciated makes it all worthwhile (most of the time). We'll miss you, but knowing you're doing what you like and feeling good about it will make the missing easier.
Stay well, knit when you can and come back when you're able.
Thanks for taking the time to let us know you are alive and well, if not tan, rested, and ready. Hope the seige ends soon, the pace sounds unsustainable on the long run. Take care.
I read your comment on a gentleman's c. I can't believe you don't know that there are elections every year on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November!!! And you are in law!
I bet you knew it but just had a little brain freeze.
I'm appalled but in a loving way.
Benevolent Reader...living, as I do,in Chicago gives one a rather intimate knowledge of elections. You may be take it for a certainty, I vote in several of them every year. As many times as possible.
There was not, at least in the City of Chicago, an election on Tuesday. Our primary season begins early next year -- the Illinois primary has been moved up to sometime in February. Barack Obama lives on the corner...so, with the Secret Service and reporters and such, I think I'll know when it is.
But thank you for the civics lesson. As with most, they work everywhere but in Chicago.
