Did you know that there is a city in Canada by the name of "Placentia"? I kid you not. Check it out.
There is also a Placentia, California.
I wonder if the name was an afterthought?

It does look naughty in print, but Placentia is pronounced quite differently than it looks (the ending "tia" is pronounced "she-a" (tho I would imagine that it would cause quite a few giggles in a reading class if mispronounced).
here in pennsylvania, we have "intercourse", "blue ball", and "bird in hand". all in lancaster county. google it, it's fun!
