QUICK DEBATE COMMENT

Did anyone (besides me) notice Grampy John say to the black man "You probably don't know who Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are..."?

Not too condescending or racist, huh?

Was that because he figured the black man couldn't read, or because he thinks black people don't own houses?

No really. I want to know. I'll wait right here for my answer.

I saw that. I thought it was very condesending and wondered what basis he was using to come to that conclusion. Crap anyone who has ever tried to buy a house has heard of Fannie Mae. At best he was judging him because he was young - at the worst it was racist. Either way, I with you. Very condesending.

It's because he thinks that all of us (I'm 50+ and white) are too dumb to know who Freddie and Frannie (yes, he said Frannie if you didn't catch it)are. Afterall, he didn't know who they were until the economy started crashing and Phil Graham told him who they were...

I'm Canadian and I don't own a TV, so I'm a little slow on the presidential-campaign-uptake, so forgive me for this, but:

HE SAID WHAT?!?

Has anyone nailed him on that, yet? WTF??

Oh, and just so you know, we foreigners DO realize that despite what we are hearing from Palin, educated and rational people in the States DO exist.
