Moorecat, my thoughts exactly. I bet one could fashion an ersatz dishwasher using it, fill it with dishes, add water, dish detergent, and turn on the jets. Drain, rinse, and you are in business. Still on your knees, but back in the first world. I am enjoying your daily updates. It all seems to be going wonderfully. I recently survived a 6 month remodel of a very small bathroom that was fraught with delays and drama. I'm still in shock, but enjoy a daily shower in a marble bathroom.
Alas, it is hardly a spa tub. It was here when we bought the place, and knowing that the previous owner took out an iron claw-foot tub to put this thing in makes me want to cry. The few times we've used this mon-Spa-city it has made so much noise that once one of the downstairs neighbors thought there was a tornado headed right for us.
I feel like such a failure. I'm cooking dinner on my bedroom floor, my kid is sleeping on a mattress under the dining table -- in the living room -- and I am washing dishes where I bathe...and this is still not third-world enough to evoke sympathy! Trust me, I am not going to try harder!
I've washed dishes in the tub, I've had to ask workmen to please leave because the bathroom didn't have walls. I've had to hike to the end of the driveway in the snow to use the port-a-potty...eh! Don't feel like a failure, feel like a success!! Soon you'll have such a beautiful beautiful kitchen!! Throw a huge blanket over that dining table and call the whole thing an adventure!! You're pictures are lovely and it looks like it's going quite well (I love your new tile). It's hard when you're living through it, but in the end it will be so worth it.
